W.O.F.A - 'Western and Oriental Fighting Arts' Association, incorporates
the
very
best of both Eastern and Western cultures. Their philosophies and
martial practices
are intricately woven into a carefully structured
training programme which has basic foundation built around authentic
Ju-Jitsu
defensive techniques.
Ju-Jitsu
was the art of the
Samurai
warrior, which has it's systems of combat and teachings
dating back
more
than 2,000 years, and therefore can truly lay claim as the
'mother art'
of the Japanese combative martial arts.
Also, independently taught as well as explored in regular class lessons, is
the Filipino art of
Kali. Incorporated with ides and methods from Wing Chun, Sivat, Muay Thai and our own
modern day Western Boxing, this system offers
both traditional 'stick and knife' fighting techniques, as well as a variety
of other weapons applications, and primarily, it offers a
uniquely
devastating form of real empty handed combat technique that manifests itself
into a very useful 'street wise' form of martial art.
